Well I do not think there is a direct way to kick off a Crystal Report through an adapter, but you can go for an indirect approach as in consuming crystal report webservice(s). An example of publishing an crystal report as web service is found in this code project article. I conclude from this article that crystal report can be published as a web service. BizTalk can consume web services so this opens a door for you to kick of a report.
